You must make the decision to share with every single person. Get over yourself, get over your excuses. It’s not about you it’s about sharing the opportunity to make their life better.
Make the decision that since you love your product and you love your company you are obligated to share it with everyone. Imagine going to Dillard’s to do some shopping and a man is standing at the door and asks “are you planning to make a purchase?” You respond, “I don’t know.” To which he responds, “Sorry you can’t come in.” You do the same thing when you decide a person might not be interested, you refuse to allow them in.
Lawyers prepare for years to go to court and don’t win every case. Why do you think you will only hear yes? There are a lot of people who are paid to say “Is there anything I can help you with?” and they hear a lot of no’s.
If someone comes up to you and tells that she has just opened up a skydiving business, would you be interested in learning how to skydive and you are afraid of heights you would probably say no. Should she close her business because skydiving is not for you? Should she decide not to talk to anyone else about her skydiving business because you are afraid of skydiving? Accept ahead of time that what you do and what you have to offer is not for everyone and that’s okay. If they are happy with the product they use, be happy for them. If they are happy with the opportunities they have, be happy for them. Then go on to the next person because they may be the one who really needs the opportunity you have to offer.
When you share properly and respect their choice to say no then the fear is gone.
The most vital part of sharing is to be honest and sincere. Don’t act out of a sense of need but out of a sense of sharing and caring about the person you are sharing with. Be friendly and personal. Begin by asking a personal question such as “So do you live here in ______?” Then bridge to sharing about your business and (30 seconds) and come back to personal.
Sharing should only take 30 seconds. Schedule a time to provide more information.
Direct Sales is all about sharing. It’s not whether someone says yes or no but whether you are sharing that grows your business.
You can love people but be uncomfortable talking to them. Don’t refuse to share because you are uncomfortable. Step outside your comfort zone so that you can offer everyone the wonderful opportunity you’ve been given.
I will be happy with everyone’s response no matter what it is!
New recruits need to know that they are in the sharing business. They need to be taught and learn how to be professional sharers.
Ask people, “Have you ever thought of doing something alongside your family activities to earn extra money?
When you make phone calls: 1. Share the opportunity, 2. Share hostess/host opportunities, 3. Offer a Personal Shopping Service, 4. Ask for Referrals, 5. Thank them for their time.
Take the words I can’t out of your vocabulary and see what happens.
The director is the Coach. The coach needs to determine what the goals of each team member is and coach them on how to work day to day to accomplish their goals.
Sharing should be the most important part of your day. No matter what else happens you should measure the success of your day by how many people you have shared with. Not what their response was, but how many you shared with.
Every quarter every team member should evaluate their quarter. As their own boss do they feel they should receive a raise or be called into the office.
If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.
