I'm going to start this thread with simple things to look out for. When communication is achieved mostly through the written word, it's important that we "say" what we mean. Checking spelling, grammar and content may make the difference in gaining a new recruit, customer, or friend. Remember, when you check your spelling, however, that is not the final judge. Spell check softwares don't know the difference between "field" and "filed" -- these are both correct spellings, but which is the correct word? There, their, and they're are often used incorrectly as are your and you're, not to mention a TON of other words. Please be sure to re-read your post or e-mail before sending it so that you aren't saying: "Than kyou fro teh request to jion my teem." YIKES! Doing a re-check takes just seconds, and might embrace your new relationship instead of being off-putting
